Honing Oil

Our 4-oz bottle of food grade white mineral oil is the same oil used in our Lizard Sauce emulsions. You can use it to thin the emulsions or add a little oil to the strop if it starts to dry out. The emulsions are very concentrated, so thinning them may work better on some steels and sometimes helps to further refine an edge. This oil can also be used on our resin bond stones or Edge Pro Matrix stones instead of water. You will need to clean the oil off the stones or strops before storing them, as it can harm the strop resin if left on for weeks. Isopropyl alcohol and a paper towel work for the strops and finer grit stones, or soap and water work for everything.
